Hi, I’m Greg Wixted, welcome to my blog where I’ll be sharing some of what I’ve learned on my life’s jagged journey.

This blog is a brand new undertaking for me and I must say I find the idea of sharing my thoughts publicly a bit unnerving. That’s actually a large part of the reason why I’m doing it. I think forcing myself outside of my comfort zone is important and something I haven’t done much of lately. It’s been quite some time since I’ve done any serious writing, but I used to be pretty good at it and hope to get there again with practice.

I currently live and work in the suburbs of Chicago and have spent a total of thirty six years of my life in the area. My wife and I don’t love the long winters but do love being spoiled for choice when it comes to food and entertainment. Plus, most of our family is here and we’d miss them if we left.

I currently work as a web developer for an interactive marketing agency. I’ve been there for over seven years and it’s been a great experience working for a really excellent company comprised of a lot of very intelligent and talented people.

When I’m not working or writing I like biking with my wife on the trails near our home, hiking (especially in Colorado), reading (fiction and nonfiction – usually in a coffee shop) or rooting for the Chicago Bears.
